In 2023, I picked up the paintbrush for the first time in 20 years. Words from my high school art teacher came to me — "Render this more. Wet brush. Dry brush!" The work just came out of me. I was relearning how to paint: exploring color theory, light, storytelling, and form, all using canvases and paints that were gifted to me. Each piece was a step into something both innate and brand new.
